As mentioned in the last Newsletter the CTP system
we had installed by Screen nearly 5
years ago was starting to struggle to keep up with the
demands we were placing on it, so we decided to look
at the possibility of a new platemaking system.
We, of course, looked at all of the options first going back to Screen, also looking at Agfa and Heidelberg but once we began looking in detail we were most smitten with the Agfa Solution as it offered, complete workflow, process-less plates and great plate quality.
July 2007 we placed the order for the Agfa system
which included the ApogeeX Commercial workflow
and an unusual 'L' shaped layout to suit our
premises. We are only the second company in the UK
to utilise this new layout.
Since the installation last August we have enjoyed a
consistent stream of plates which has allowed greater
planning on production and easing the pressure in
our studio. |

We are pleased to announce the recruitment of a new
Graphic Designer to our Studio team.
Julia Singleton began working with us Mid February, she has been working in the trade for around 5 years and has BA (Hons) Degree in Graphic Julia's arrival compliments our already experienced Studio team and can only enhance our strength within this aspect of the company. This combined with the Agfa installation puts us in a very strong position as one of the best equipped and versatile Studios you could require, something we are very proud of. |

You may remember some 18 months ago we moved
over the Accura MIS System, since then we have been
developing our production system to utilise the
strengths of Accura.
We already provide a stock control and despatch service for one of our customers but when we approached by another customer for a similar service we realised we needed to look at this area of the company more closely.
After a demonstration from Data-Design Services of
the Accura Stock Control Module, we decided this was
the most sensible route to take and it soon became
obvious it would be a seamless addition to our MIS
system.
